Paint Masks

While decals are still used for many large format applications, paint masks are now the most common way to mark corporate liveries. Antiquated methods of free-hand painting or using a pounce pattern do not compare to our large-format removable vinyl stencils (called paint masks). Paint masks produce a crisp, clear image, can create intricate designs, and are relatively inexpensive. When marking a fleet, the biggest concern is consistency. Paint masks eliminate any inconsistencies that free-hand painting or airbrushing produce, while clearly marked splits eliminate positioning problems. Some examples are the different aircraft America West has done over the years. From their aircraft commemorating Teamwork to their support of the Arizona Diamondbacks, Avion Graphics paint masks were the tools used to handle them all.

While other companies manufacture paint masks, Avion Graphics has the edge over the competition in both quality and value. Being a licensed supplier allows us to obtain our materials directly from the manufacturer, creating savings that we pass on to our customers. Lower material costs allow us to provide the highest grade masks at prices lower than other vendors, while the competition is forced to use an inferior product to try to compete with our prices.

We often work closely with engineering departments, design firms, and paint shops to produce an accurate image of your corporate logo or specialty decal. An example is when Continental Airlines came to us several years ago with an idea to convert their fleet into their new image. With our knowledge of aircraft, we assisted the design firm in turning a two-dimensional logo into an image on a three-dimensional aircraft. Taking into account the unique properties of an aircraft, we helped them design and position the three-color globe logo on the tail and the fuselage letters so as to give them maximum exposure of their corporate image.

With current technology, images that were once only possible in decal format can be provided in a more durable painted format. Avion Graphics has developed a gradation paint mask that allows for advanced color fades that are consistent for the entire fleet. Satisfied customers that have used this process include Saudi Arabian, American Trans Air, Allegiant, South African Airlines etc
