Timeline
1984
Founder, Mary Kay Swanson started Avion Graphics as a home-based business with two customers: Continental Airlines ad Western Airlines. her goal was to provide decal manufacturing to the airline industry to meet their strict requirements.
1986
Moved to a small office and Mary Kay hired her daughter, Michele Morris, subcontracting the manufacturing to a local screen shop.
1992
Avion graphics, still family-owned, purchased a 7,000 square-foot facility, hired family member Craig Greiner, a production staff and performed manufacturing in-house.
1997
Business was growing steadily and customer base increased to major, regional and international airlines. Avion Graphics expanded into exterior graphics for ground support equipment, moved to a 14,00 square-foot facility, hired additional personnel, and made major investments in decal graphic manufacturing equipment.
1998
Avion Graphics became an approved vendor for original equipment manufacturers, including: Boeing, McDonnel Douglas, Weber Aircraft and Lockheed.
2000
Avion Graphics was awarded a D1-9000 rating in advanced quality systems, which is based upon sound principles of management, engineering, manufacturing and installation. This would far exceed an ISO 9002 or ISO 9003 certifications. Avion Graphics currently holds the highest level of certification in Quality Control of Parts Manufacturer Approval by both the U.S. Department of Transportation and the Federal Avion Administration.
2002
Added an additional 8,000 square feet to our facility to meet company growth demands. Awarded the DHL new identification graphics business.
2004
Hired our new V.P. of Sales, Marc Oberman to launch our latest division: Avion Transportation Graphics
Today Avion Graphics is recognized as one of the global leaders of Airline Identification and growing vastly in Ground Transportation Identification.
